Dr. John L. Lytle is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, with degrees in both dentistry and medicine. Though now retired from active patient care, Dr. Lytle played a significant role in the history of Foothill Center for Dental Implants and Oral Surgery. He served as a mentor and professor for Dr. Christopher Chan. We are thankful for his many faithful years of clinical excellence.
As one of the most highly-skilled implant surgeons in Southern California, Dr. Lytle focused much of his practice on implant reconstruction, including treatments such as All-on-4® dental implants and zygomatic implants.
Dr. Lytle has decades of experience mentoring and instructing both dental students and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents at the University of Southern California. He also served as USC’s Director of Undergraduate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Lytle has contributed to the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in numerous ways, including serving as a former Board Examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where his area of focus was anesthesia. He has also held several leadership positions, including the Board of Directors and Past President of the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Lytle has served as a California Delegate to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
After more than 92 combined years in practice, Drs. Lytle, Tate, and Stamper have retired and decided to transition their Pasadena practice to Dr. Christopher Chan. Both Drs. John J. Lytle Sr. and John L. Lytle Jr. served as his mentors and professors at USC. Dr. Chan is proud to continue the tradition of clinical excellence that LTS was known for.
